Five Purpose Built Rooms

Purpose-built and tastefully decorated, the Centre offers five rooms of varying sizes to accommodate anything from a two-person interview or a small board catch-up to a full-scale conference or expo for up to 250 people.
All rooms feature a clean, light, and modern feel. Practical qualities—such as being well-equipped, offering ample parking, ultrafast WiFi, and great disability access—make the Function Centre an easy, reliable choice for your next business or community event. Plus, food and drink can be seamlessly arranged through our-site caterers to suit your requirements.

What we offer

Open and Spacious Design

Designed by visionary New Zealand architect, Paris Magdalinos (1942-2008), the architectural style of this building reflects the light, open spacious feel of the Hawke’s Bay region. Opened in 1998 after years of community fundraising and with the support of the Hastings District Council, the Function Centre is a modern example of a long heritage of unique architectural works by renowned architects. This heritage is celebrated in the Heritage Trails brochure ‘Havelock North Architectural Drive’ available at the Centre.

On-Site Catering

All food and beverage for events at the Function Centre is provided by our on-site partners, PURE Catering. They offer a versatile range of delicious options, specialize in fresh local produce, and happily accommodate all dietary requirements (including gluten-free, dairy-free, and organic)—from corporate morning teas to working lunches.

The Havelock North Function Centre is administrated by the Havelock North Community Centre Trust Board and is incorporated under the Charities Trust Act 1957. Registered as a charity under the Charities Act 2005; CC22977
